United Way Worldwide Opposes Senate Tax Reform Legislation

Over the weekend, the U.S. Senate voted and passed HR 1, the tax reform bill.  United Way Worldwide released a press statement in opposition of the legislation as it provides little benefit to low-income families and will dramatically impact the work United Ways across the country will be able to carry out, most notably through the elimination of the charitable deducation resulting in a decrease in donor giving to charities by an estimated $13 billion dollars per year.
