Contact to Care helps uninsured individuals gain access to health care. Community Health Workers help clients secure insurance if eligible, and a connection to a regular source of medical care. The program recently was expanded to include dental and vision care, and behavioral health services. Contact to Care helps people navigate the health care system by removing barriers to care.
Ready for School, Ready to Succeed prepares children ages 3 to 5 from low-income families to begin kindergarten. Students who are not enrolled in a preschool can attend weekly educational workshops to learn important academic and social skills. Parents/caregivers are provided with educational packets to reinforce lessons at home. Staff Education Liaisons refer children for intervention services as needed (for example, reading or speech therapy), and help families enroll their children for kindergarten. Ready for School, Ready to Succeed, strives to improve reading proficiency by preparing children for kindergarten.
Road to Success helps individuals obtain jobs with opportunities for advancement so that they can earn a living wage and rise above poverty. Case managers assist with resume building, interviews, attire, transportation, and childcare as needed through the first year of employment. Financial education is an important part of the initiative, to help our clients effectively manage their resources and achieve long-term financial stability.
