Key Focus Areas
Pocono Mountains United Way focuses on the needs of the ALICE population – those who are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. Our programs focus on housing stability, information and referral, early childhood and Kindergarten readiness.
Our Programs
Tenant Eviction Mediation Program is a voluntary, confidential and free program where a mediator works with both landlords and tenants to identify their needs and help them negotiate a solution. Unlike the court system, landlords and tenants participating in mediation have more options to create a mutual agreement that is acceptable to all parties.
Provides free information and referral for human service needs in Monroe County, PA. Whether it’s information about local food pantries, accessing homeless shelters, public assistance programs, opioid abuse, availability of child care services, or other human service needs, Monroe County residents need only contact PoconoInfo to connect with a comprehensive database of local, state and federal health and human service programs available in our community. Trained call specialists will be on hand to answer questions and refer individuals in need to services that are available.
Supports children’s readiness for Kindergarten and promotes positive outcomes through referral to services where needed. The program provides developmental, vision, hearing, dental and speech screenings free of charge to children birth through age 5.
