Through this collaboration, PA 211 acts as a referral partner, identifying individuals and households whose homes have been damaged or destroyed by events such as floods, fires, tornadoes, or other severe weather. Once eligibility is confirmed, PA 211 works directly with Airbnb.org to connect families to free, short-term stays funded by Airbnb.org.
These temporary stays typically last 7 to 14 days for immediate evacuation and can extend up to 30 days for longer-term relief while families determine permanent housing solutions. First responders, including medical professionals, humanitarian workers, and even 211 care coordinators actively supporting disaster relief, may also be housed through the program.
