PA 211 Helps Communities Better Understand Local Needs with New 211 Data Pulse Dashboard
Every day, PA 211 connects Pennsylvanians to essential resources such as housing assistance, food programs, utility support, health care, child care, and more. Each interaction provides valuable insight into the challenges people are facing in their communities.
In a new pilot, those insights are helping communities make more informed decisions through 211 Data Pulse, a new public dashboard in partnership with United Way that aggregates data from 211 systems across seven states, including Pennsylvania.
The dashboard is the first tool of its kind to provide an aggregated view of community needs and trends across multiple statewide 211 systems. By transforming millions of 211 interactions into accessible data, 211 Data Pulse helps identify what challenges are emerging, where they are occurring, and how needs are changing over time.
Community leaders, government officials, nonprofits, funders, researchers, and media organizations can use this information to better understand local conditions and identify opportunities for action. The dashboard provides data at the national, state, ZIP code, and congressional district levels, helping decision-makers target resources and investments where they can have the greatest impact.
By highlighting trends as they develop, 211 Data Pulse can help communities respond proactively to growing challenges rather than reacting after needs have escalated.
PA 211 is proud to be part of this innovative pilot and continues to be a leader in using data to strengthen communities, improve coordination, and connect people to the resources they need.
In addition to the new 211 Data Pulse dashboard, PA 211 offers local and regional data dashboards that provide deeper insight into community needs across Pennsylvania. These dashboards allow users to explore trends, service requests, and local data that can help inform planning, partnerships, and investments.
