We continue to show extreme resilience and dedication by providing programs that fight against our community’s most daunting social crises to improve HEALTHY COMMUNITIES, YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES, and FINANCIAL SECURITY for all of us.
Our Programs
United Way’s Education Services Specialists are licensed social workers who work directly in the school districts. Their main objective is to enhance the lives of our local students through support and resources that sometimes extend beyond in-school services to address non-academic barriers to learning.
Their services include: one-on-one sessions, group sessions, and crisis interventions. They work with students on social and emotional lessons, peer pressure, self-esteem, and overall guidance.
United Way, in collaboration with the McElhattan Foundation and Galaxy Federal Credit Union, launched the Drive to Thrive Program in 2024. This program aims at transforming transportation access for local residents by offering reliable and obtainable vehicle financing. It provides a solution for individuals struggling to secure a loan and empowers them to improve their employment status, financial stability, and overall quality of life.
In 2020, United Way announced the development of the David L. Weber Memorial Community Garden. Mr. Weber was a beloved member of the community and a local historian. He always spoke about having a community garden and would often talk about the “Victory Garden” during WWII and how it benefited the community.
After his passing, United Way, with the help of the City of Titusville, decided to make his dream a reality and created a garden located at 103 W. Central Avenue, Titusville, PA. Residents are encouraged to visit the garden, sit and relax, and enjoy the fresh crops. Produce from the garden is donated to local food pantries including Associated Charities of Titusville PA and Titusville Area Food Pantry. Produce is also accessible to all community members, as the garden gate remains open during the gardening season
In 2024 a shed was installed to provide a location for healthy eating education classes, as well as storage for garden supplies. Events are frequently held at the garden which are open to anyone who would like to attend. Learn More!
