Key Focus Areas

In order to solve the complex challenges residents of Lebanon County face, United Way of Lebanon County provides pathways to education and financial stability that create better opportunities for everyone in our community. Our programs and investments are focused on the following key areas:

Early Childhood Initiatives: Our goal is to give all of Lebanon County children a strong start in life. By convening strategic community partnerships and investing in the critical years of a child’s life to create a strong foundation, build resiliency, and strengthen family stability, United Way of Lebanon County is helping children reach critical milestones that are strong predictors of their future trajectory.

Youth Success: United Way of Lebanon County’s programs and community investments help to improve academic performance, ensure equal access to educational opportunities, and increase family security. Our goal is to remove barriers to learning for our most vulnerable children because education is the path to self-dependence.

Family Stability: By providing a hand up to our neighbors in need, we empower them to be financially independent and create stronger families and ultimately a stronger community. Our goal is to connect families to community resources and programs to help them improve their economic self-dependence.

Our Programs

Community Schools

In partnership with Communities in Schools of PA and the public school districts of Lebanon and Cornwall-Lebanon, United Way of Lebanon County seeks to remove barriers to learning by employing Community School Coordinators within elementary schools to connect families to resources and ensure that critical learning milestones are achievable for all students in Lebanon County.

PA211 East

Our investment in PA211 East ensures a dedicated call center specialist is available to field calls from Lebanon County residents. Providing this resource to the community means that those in need are able to navigate through the often-complex system of connecting with vital health and human services.

VITA

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program provides free simplified tax preparation services to low- and middle-income residents of Lebanon County making under $58,000 annually. VITA is an economic development program that brings income directly back to the community and creates an opportunity for improving financial literacy and economic mobility.
