Our Programs
FOCUS wants all children to enter school ready to learn. Through inclusion, collaboration, research, and integrity, FOCUS works to improve the lives of children in York County by supporting quality early childhood experiences. FOCUS achieves this by offering Pre-K Scholarships, Early Literacy Reading Challenges, a Pre-Kindergarten summer prep program, Little Free Libraries, and prescribed reading at pediatric appointments through its Reach Out And Read program. The programs target children below the ALICE threshold, but children across York County are eligible to participate.
The goal of Youth Court Alliance is to divert families from entering the Magisterial District Court for truancy citations and reengage truant students. Students and families are engaged in projects and mentoring better to understand the importance and impact of regular school attendance.
